"Master Plan" was formed in September of 2003. Sara Sabo was contacted to play at the annual area pig roast with the members of "Redeemed". Knowing that her schedule was open she said that she would contact the rest of the group to see if they were free. Unfortunately before the contacts were made, the flyers had already been made and posted (oops!). Three out of the four members were not available so what was Sara to do, but to call her musician friends from another group called "Harvest" plus throw in a rogue lead guitarist, bass player, and drummer. The group was formed that day.
There were two rehearsals, six songs, and a couple of solos (now who could ask for more). All the musicians had a great time jammin' and then it was over (so we thought). Then we were asked to go to a church in Rhode Island and the rest is history.
Coming up with a name came later. When the group thought of their roots, we tried calling ourselves "Succotash: or the more elegant "The Pig Roast Ensemble". Unfortunately, the names did not sound very spiritual (Only for the Pig!).
Although the group has changed slightly in membership over the last few years, the love the group has for the Lord, His music and His Word has not waned. Our desire is to live for Jesus, promote His saving grace, and that Jesus will be seen in us.
We hope that all that come to our concerts or hear our CD's will only see the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is because of Him alone, that we sing!
